YOUR ELECTRICAL SAFETY CHECK

Book your free appointment today and let us make sure your home is safe.

WHAT IS AN ELECTRICAL SAFETY CHECK (EICR)?

In 2017 to 2018, 11,375 house fires in England were caused by electrical faults (out of 30,744 fires).

The purpose of an Electrical Safety Check is to find any potential electrical faults that my might be present in your home such as broken sockets, switches, loose wiring etc which could cause an electric shock or may become a fire hazard.

Our engineers will carry out a thorough visual inspection of your electrical system and complete a range of electrical tests to make sure the system is safe.

At the end of the check we will issue an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) which details what we have tested and any faults that we have found so that your Landlord can arrange for any further repairs required to be carried out.

Landlords are legally required to maintain your home to make sure that it is safe for you and your family. Electrical Safety Checks are usually carried out every 5 years.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS IF WE DON’T CARRY OUT THESE CHECKS AND TESTS?

It is dangerous to neglect these checks. Issues that aren’t dangerous now, could become dangerous over time.

We need to access the property for your electrical safety to ensure these checks are carried out, thus creating a continued safe environment for you and your family.

IMPORTANT – YOU WILL NOT NEED TO MOVE ANYTHING OR TURN ANYTHING OFF PRIOR TO THE ENGINEER ARRIVING. WE WILL DO THIS FOR YOU.

The engineer will need to carry out certain tests and follow an inspection procedure that aims to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Appointments are booked in AM or PM slots as promising certain times can be difficult as job times vary.

We can add specific requests such as ‘avoid school run’ or ‘after 2pm’ to ensure our engineer does not miss you. We understand that work commitments can make appointment times difficult. In this case we have engineers that can offer late afternoon or Saturday appointments; these can be requested when you book and are convenient to you.
